Bonnie Stewart hails from Banbridge and is widely known as “The Star of Co Down”. She has been on the music circuit for nineteen years now and in that time has recorded twelve albums and three DVD’s and is currently in the process of recording yet another CD. Bonnie performs as a duo with her husband Brendan McGarrity specialising in weddings, dances and concerts. Bonnie gained a lot of her experience in the UK touring ith Sean Wilson for several years and performing in theatres throughout the UK.
Bonnie’s musical influences are Patsy Cline and Dolly Parton having grown up listening to their music, her all time favourites also include Reba McIntyre and Emmylou Harris.
For several years Bonnie has played an active part in the JW Promotions shows 'Legends of Nashville' and 'The Kings & Queens of Country'. Having the backing of a fantastic country band, Bonnie enjoys the challenge of performing songs from all the Nashville greats in front of a live audience.
Bonnie has appeared in two BBC 'Country Music' shows and has appeared on television with the wonderful Charlie Pride and Crystal Gayle and has worked with Hal Ketchum.
For three years Bonnie worked as a DJ for a local radio station, a job she enjoyed immensely. Currently Bonnie is a full time office manager with an electrical company in Armagh, this keeps her extremely busy juggling a full time job along with her singing career and two young daughters.
